So The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey has been out for a little while. I was wondering if any of you have seen it, and what your thoughts on it are. People who have seen it, try to keep it spoiler free for those who haven't seen it.

I haven't seen it myself as I'm not a fan of those kind of movies, but my friend who is an absolute LoTR addict said it was amazing. ^^

I haven't seen it yet (as I have been out of town...) but I plan on seeing it soon!

Saw it in IMAX 3D, and it was awesome. Can't wait for the next two parts :)

Goblin king and his messenger were great. I think they made the trolls, goblins and orcs a bit less basic monster and put more personality into them which was good.

I watched it in IMAX 3D, shame my theatre didn't have it in HFR as well... But I loved it. Critics have been slamming the film for starting very slow, but I thought it was perfectly paced. The goblin king was well done, and the troll scene was great. I felt like probably the best scene was the Gollum scene. Andy Serkis deserves an Oscar.

Brilliant film in its own right, but has none of  the epicness and charm on the LOTR. I think they've made a mistake by dragging it over 3 films, maybe the hardcore fans will buzz of that but for the majority of the people who will watch it I think the series will be too long.
