We plan to release a multitude of new tools (of which we cannot speak about at this moment to make sure we are the first fansite to release these tools! ), we also plan to finish off all of our quest, skill, and guild guides, along with finishing a multitude of specialty guides. All of this work will turn into higher support from Jagex, allowing us to bring you more events, competitions, and interviews with Jagex staff.

Register your e-mail account to your RuneScape account
If you forget your password you’re only an email away from getting back into game If that wasn’t reason enough, you get extra bank space too! Log into your account on www.runescape.com at the top-right corner of the main page, select "Account" and then "Account Settings" from the drop down menu for information on how to register.

Keep your password safe
Never tell your password to anyone including friends! A Jagex Mod will never ever ask you for your password, so don’t listen to anyone who does – even if they claim to work for us.

Use a unique password that’s impossible to guess.
Your password for RuneScape should be unique and not used anywhere else on the internet. Stay away from the obvious to make it impossible to guess!

Install and update anti-virus software
Install, regularly update anti-virus and anti-malware software on your computer, and run regular scans.

Be aware of phishing scams
Phishing email scams can be used to hijack your account, so be sure to verify all links before you click them. If you’re ever in doubt, then get out of there! Click here to learn how to spot a phishing email or site.

Use a bank PIN
If someone does manage to guess your password and access your account, limit the damage by having a bank PIN that only you know. Setting up a bank PIN is quick and easy – click here for instructions.

Always log out
Make sure when you are finished with your session and want to log out, that you use our official log out buttons located at the top right of the screen. If you log in via Facebook, make sure you log out of your Facebook account before you leave!

12 Days of Cabbage

Did you participate in our Penguin Hide and Seek competition last month? Well, don't hate me, but now it's CABBAGE! There will be a one cabbage on our site per day, and once you find it, email us its location to competitions@runeslayer.com for a chance to win 30 Days of RuneScape Membership! The competition will run from December 20th through 31st, with the location of the cabbage changing every day. If you need help, Melzar the Mad will be giving hints in our IRC Channel.

Dungeoneering with RuneSlayer

On December 23 at 8:30 PM Eastern (December 24 at 1:30 GMT), RuneSlayer's admins will be gathering at Daemonheim on World 45 (P2P) & World 43 (F2P). You are welcome to join our Clan Chat, RuneSlayer, as a guest and mingle with us! The admins are at varying Dungeoneering and combat levels, so if you're just starting out or an expert, you will be able to play with others of similar levels. Be sure to invite your friends!

Multiple Fansite Event

January Overall Skilling Competition

What better way than to start off your 2012 New Year's Goals than with a touch of friendly competition and motivation? We are starting sign-ups RIGHT NOW, so be sure to get your name in before the competition starts on January 1! The competition will end on January 31. Throughout the month, we will track the Overall progress of your skills, and at the end of the month, the winners will be decided by whoever gained the most experience. Sign up here today, and start preparing! Make sure you post your username over in the Overall Skilling Competition topic in the Events Team Forum.

The more people that sign up for the competition, the more prizes there will be, so tell your friends about it! I know we're a RuneScape fansite, but as a Network, we support all Jagex Games. Therefore, when we heard that Jagex's latest game, 8Realms was being released, we jumped on the chance to get something extra for our users!

Jagex has kindly provided us with a special 8Realms key for you to use and get a head start in the game! With only a few hours to go til its release (as of the time of this post), it may be worth jotting this code down and trying it out once the game is live!
